The YK Pao Education Foundation is a Section 88 registered charitable institution in Hong Kong. It is governed by a Board of Trustees which oversees its overall direction and operations.

  • Mr. Cheng is the Managing Director of The World-Wide Investment Company, a family office founded by Sir YK Pao more than 60 years ago. He is a Co-Founder of hedge fund manager Valence8; the Chairman of investment company NUO; the Founder of Empty Gallery, a Hong Kong-based art gallery; and a Board Member of Hong Kong and New York non-profit arts organizations The Ink Society and Artists Space.

  • Dr. Cheng is a Senior Consultant and former Senior Partner of law firm Messrs P C Woo & Co. He is currently a non-official member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He is Chairman of the Council of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Council of St Paul’s Co-educational College, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Education Services. He was Chairman of, among others, the Board of Education, the Education Commission, the Free Kindergarten Education Committee, the Council of the Hong Kong Baptist University and a former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. Dr Cheng was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2016.

  • Dr. Ch’ien is a Partner at Asia Pacific Capital, a private equity firm. He is the Chairman of the College Council and School Management Committee of St. Stephen's College in Hong Kong and the Honorary President of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. Dr. Ch’ien is the former Chairman of Hang Seng Bank Limited and MTR Corporation and is a former Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr Ch'ien was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 1999.

  • Mr. Hui is CEO and Director of Greater Bay Area Airlines. Prior to his current role, he was CEO of Airport Authority Hong Kong, CEO of Dragonair and COO of Air Hong Kong. He has been a member, among others, of the Council of the VTC, the Council and Court of Lignan University, the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council, and of the Commission on Strategic Development of the HKSAR Government. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the VTC.

  • Ms. Koo is the Vice-Chairman of Goldman Sachs' Private Wealth Management in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to her current role, she was Managing Director and Head of HSBC’s Premier Clients Group for Asia. Ms. Koo started her banking career at Chase Manhattan Bank as Regional Manager for North Asia.

  • Prof. Lau is Ralph and Claire Landau Professor of Economics of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Kwoh-Ting Li Professor in Economic Development, Emeritus, at Stanford University after serving as a Professor of Economics at Stanford for more than 30 years. Prof. Lau served as a Vice-Chancellor (President) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a member of the 11th and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He currently serves as a Non-Official Member of the Candidate Eligibility Review Committee, a Non-Official Member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Investment Corporation, as well as a Member of the Currency Board Sub-Committee of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee of the HKSAR.

  • Prof. Sohmen has been actively involved in community service ranging from education, arts and culture, business chambers and environmental groups. She is the Founder and Chairman of YK Pao School Shanghai and the Chairman of Casa Bauhinia in Ningbo. Some of her current positions include being Honorary President of Ningbo University, Honorary Chairman of The Chinese Manufacturers Association of Hong Kong, Honorary President of the Hong Kong-Shanghai Economic Development Association, Honorary President of the International Ningbo Merchants Association, and Member of the Culture and Heritage Commission of the Home Affairs Bureau. She has served as, among other positions, Council Chairman of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Member of the Hong Kong Business Coalition on the Environment, and Member of the Financial Secretary’s Business Advisory Group. She is a Founding Member of Helping Hand, Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Liver Foundation, and a Founding Governor of Chinese International School in Hong Kong.

  • Mr. Sohmen is the Co-Founder of YK Pao School Shanghai. He also serves on the boards of the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the Feng Zikai Chinese Children’s Picture Book Award, the China Advisory Group of Oxford University, and the Yale Centre for Emotional Intelligence. He is the Co-Founder of the Shanghai International Youth Orchestra Foundation and of ChinaOne.Ningbo, China’s most successful professional high-speed sailing team. 

  • Mr. Yao is the Chairman of Hong Kong Shanghai Alliance Holdings (Stock Code: 1001.HK). He is Council Chairman of Lingnan University, a Board Member of Fudan University, Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong-Shanghai Associations, and Vice-Chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong.

  • Mr. Zhang is the Chairman of Wayne’s Automation Holding Limited. Prior to his current role, he was the Managing Director of investment firm LDV Partners and the Founder and CEO of Shanghai-based company Lucky Pai. Mr. Zhang started his career as a Consultant with Monitor Group in Boston and as Engagement Manager with McKinsey in Shanghai.

  • Mdm. Zhu is the Chairman of Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad. She is a former Advisor to the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Group and former Deputy Chief Executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Group.
